Results of resection of the pancreatic head in chronic pancreatitis

Article is devoted a problem of surgical treatment of a chronic pancreatitis with primary defeat of a head. Analyzed the indications and immediate results of 58 resections of the pancreatic head with a mortality rate 1,7% and postoperative complications in 10,3%. Pancreaticoduodenectomy is executed to 37 patients. The impossibility of an exception of a cancer was the indication to operation in more half of cases. Resection of pancreatic head with preservation of the duodenum is made in the form of Frey 16 and in the Bernese version operations Beger - 5 patients. These operations can not only remove the inflammatory mass of pancreatic head, but also to remove all the complications of chronic pancreatitis. Subtotal resection of the pancreatic head as one of the best methods of surgical treatment of chronic pancreatitis requires the study of long-term results.
