Presents the results of breeding work with spring barley in Samara research Institute of agriculture. Shows the established collection on the basic economic-valuable attributes and properties. The assessment of varieties (Bezenchukskij 2, Bercut, Yastreb, Orlan, Lun, Medicum 157) on the grounds of adaptability and grain quality. It is established that grades of the Bercut, Orlan, Medicum 157 combined high yield potential with minimal reduction in adverse conditions of cultivation with the lowest phenotypic variability. All released varieties were formed by high technological parameters of grain quality. Describes the characteristics of the new variety the Grif.
