The EAEU free trade zone - Vietnam today is the flagship of the external contour of the Eurasian integration and is of considerable interest, especially in the context of import substitution and expanding the geography of exports of the EAEU countries. The relevance of the topic is also confirmed by the need to form long-term economic partnerships with friendly countries, which include Vietnam. As part of this study, the goal is to assess the effectiveness of the EAEU-Vietnam FTA in the current conditions and its potential in the current conditions in terms of parallel imports and promotion of exports of goods and EAEU countries. To achieve the goal, a number of tasks are being solved, including assessing the quantitative effects of the EAEU-Vietnam FTA, identifying competitive advantages in trade with Vietnam of the EAEU countries, as well as developing recommendations for cooperation within the framework of the FTA in modern conditions. The solution of these problems is associated with a limitation of the study - the lack of statistical data on Russian exports for 2022, however, an empirical analysis of the current state of cooperation partially levels this. The main results of the work include the proof of the special structure of trade between the EAEU and Vietnam with a significant share of high value-added goods and a large number of goods from the Russian Federation with competitive advantages, the identification of modern barriers to increasing trade and the development of recommendations for transforming the FTA into a more effective integration mechanism
