The paper examines the functioning of opposing motives of Motherland and strange land in late lyrics by Sasha Cherny against the background of Russian emigration literature. The author dwells upon the world outlook typical of writers who found themselves outside Russia. Specific poems by Sasha Cherny exemplify the implementation of the motives of Motherland and strange land in the context of emigrant literature. The analysis reveals major idea-forming dominants of the lexical units native and alien along with their interaction and integrity.
