The article discusses contribution of A.G. Goichbarg to the formation of the Soviet family law science. The author describes the scientific activities of the lawyer as well as assesses the participation of Goichbarg in development of the theoretical foundations of legal regulation of marriage and family relations in the early years of the Soviet state.
