The role of antidepressants in cardiology

For a long time in cardiological patients with concomitant depression, the only drug for the treatment of depression was amitriptyline with a large number of side effects of the cardiological plan. It was replaced by a safe and cardiologically neutral selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor sertraline. At present, the latest results of studies on the treatment of patients with cardiovascular diseases and concomitant depression with agomelatine are of increasing interest.
