The role of the army in the politics of the Middle East

In this article, the author will examine and analyze the role of the armed forces in the policies of the countries of the Middle East. Interest in this topic is due to the fact that unlike European states, with established democratic and public institutions of political power, in which the army acts as a fully controlled instrument for implementing the chosen policy, in the Middle East the armed forces on the contrary act as engines of social and political development, often playing a key role in domestic politics regulating the relationship between social classes and elites.
