The role of B. S. Bodnarsky in the formation of the system of teaching bibliographic disciplines

In the article examines the contribution of the outstanding fi gure and teacher B. S. Bodnarsky to the development of library and bibliographic training of highly qualifi ed specialists. Based on the analysis of archival documents stored in the archive of B. S. Bodnarsky, the historical path of the formation of the national higher library and bibliographic education, from prerevolutionary times to the middle of the twentieth century, is presented. The article traces his life path, professional interests, shows his contribution to the development of educational programs, programs of various bibliographic disciplines, characterizes his position on the need for diff erentiation of bibliographic disciplines, highlighting the history of bibliography as a separate discipline. The personality of B. S. Bodnarsky, his attitude to students and postgraduates is characterized. The signifi cance of B. S. Bodnarsky's legacy in modern conditions of library and bibliographic education development is shown.
