The role of frequency of the word and its meanings in lexical access in the situation of classroom bilingualism

The article is devoted to the analysis of notion of «frequency» from different points of view. Special attention is paid to the influence of frequency of the word and its separate meanings on the process of lexical access. The notion of «subjective word frequency», felt as «familiarity», «intelligibility» and «notability» is also discussed in the article.
