The role of human capital in modern economic processes

The article considers different approaches to the definition of «human capital», reveals its differences from other factors of production. The main problems of human capital development in Russia are formulated and measures to solve them are proposed. The author emphasizes that human resources are the "locomotive" of the new economy. The position of the Russian economy in the world market depends not only on technological progress, but also on the information, educational and intellectual capabilities of each person.
