The article considers the origin and development of professional burnout syndrome among teachers due to deformation of the social status of teacher's work and the internal values of teaching profession. The deformation of social status is characterized by the discrepancy between the high value and prestige of teacher's work and the divergence of social values and psychological value of teacher's work.
