Importance of the arboretum park for preserving the Birobidzhan natural heritage

The article describes the Arboretum park as a specially protected natural territory in the Jewish Autonomous region providing information about its natural conditions, the arboretum history, stages of its development and scientific research of flora and vegetation. Particular attention is paid to the introduction of woody plants and their preservation in the area natural and climatic conditions. It is presented the list of woody plants from the Russian Federation and the Jewish Autonomous region Red Books. The authors show the Bastak state nature reserve importance in improving the activities for a specially protected natural area. The emphasis is placed on the target function of the arboretum associated with ecological and educational work with the Birobidzhan and Jewish Autonomous region population.
