The use of prosthetic material, regardless of its position in the tissue does not guarantee closing abdominal wall defect without tension. The presence of the latter in the pathologically altered tissue degrades the biocompatibility of synthetic implants. The aim was to identify in the experiment the morphological changes in different stomach muscles under tension factor and assess tissue response to the prosthetic material under these conditions. Experiments were carried out using three groups of laboratory rats. It is shown that at the closing of the anterior abdominal wall defect with the direct muscle tension the abdominal pathologic changes correspond to lipomatosis, and in the outer, inner oblique and transverse muscles - fibrosis. This tension factor changes the ratio of the major populations of cells around the prosthetic material fiber, which generally degrades the performance of biocompatibility of the implant with clearly known properties.
