The role of state policy in tourism development

The article examines the impact of government policy on the development of tourism as a strategically important branch of the economy. The research focused on key instruments of government influence, including investments in infrastructure, tax incentives, international promotion of tourist destinations and regulation of the quality of services. Special attention is paid to the importance of government support in stimulating both domestic and inbound tourism, as well as ensuring the sustainability of the industry in the face of global challenges such as environmental and social factors. Based on the analysis of international experience, the article demonstrates how targeted measures contribute to an increase in tourist flows and economic benefits. The work is based on statistical data, national reports and comparative analysis of public policy. As a result, it is emphasized that the effectiveness of tourism directly depends on a well-thought-out strategy of the state. The conducted research has confirmed that government policy is the foundation for the successful development of tourism. It has been proven that investments in infrastructure, tax preferences, international promotion and regulation of the quality of services create conditions for the growth of the industry and increase its competitiveness. Based on the analysis, a number of measures are proposed to improve tourism policy, including increasing financing for infrastructure projects in regions with high potential, expanding benefits for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as strengthening international promotion and support for environmentally oriented projects.
