The article defines the role of the chemical industry in the national economy and the economy of foreign countries, revealed the proportion of the chemical industry in world production, is considered the geography of the location of enterprises of chemical industry, analyzed the dynamics of ammonia production volume of plastics and sulfuric acid in the Russian Federation.
