The role and place of ideological work in psychological confrontation during the Great Patriotic War

The article deals with the role, place, and purpose of the ideological agitation and propaganda work with the population in the times of military confrontation; the author compares the factors and conditions in the organization of ideological rivalry in the Russian empire during the First World War and in the USSR during the Great Patriotic War. The article contains a number of interesting facts and examples of ideological confrontation in the Ulyanovsk region (Ulyanovsk area until 1943) during the Great Patriotic War.
