The role and prospects of the tourism industry development in the Russian economy

The article is devoted to the tourism industry as a sector of the economy. On the basis of statistical data, determined the role of this sector in the Russian economy. The tourism in many countries is one of the major revenue sources, however, in our country the government did not take measures to implement the existing tourist and recreational potential. In this connection, the article discusses the development prospects of this sector, subject to the implementation of government actions aimed at development of integrated and effective tourism complex, generating a substantial income.
