Innovation is the soul of the country's economic and social development and progress and plays a crucial role in all aspects of public life. This document examines what innovation is, how China’s path to independent innovation should be, and how best to play the role of innovation in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan in order to play a key role in transforming the mode of economic development.
