The article examines the role of the innovation ecosystem in the formation and development of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) using the example of three countries - Russia, the USA and Germany. A comparative analysis of the ecosystem structure, support mechanisms, sources of financing and the level of digitalization is carried out. Based on the case study and statistical data, conclusions are drawn about the key success factors.
