The role of the economic factor in the transformation of single-parent families (on example of families with single mothers)

This article attempts to set the value of the economic factor for the transformation of single-parent families in the Russian society. The emphasis is on the social possibilities of economic support women material needs of the family, regardless men as well as on existing social practices in the implementation of this option. The authors analyzed the reasons for the formation of single-parent families, the impact on them of the economic factor, the ratio of the economic processes affecting the social institution of the family with other factors of social and cultural order. As the last aspect highlights the features of the traditional role of women in Russian families, according to which the domestic family model originally had in many respects the type of interaction, the center of which was the mother, not the father, which was typical of the European model of the family. Also are analyzed the contemporary women's economic opportunities, advocating in the role of a single parent family with minor children. Special attention is paid to the correlation of objective and subjective factors influencing the choice of modern Russian woman certain models of economic behavior, as in family relations and beyond. In addition, the article assesses and explains the different possibilities of complete and incomplete families from the point of view of those social conditions that are produced by modern Russian society. The study the authors come to the conclusion that a strong economic basis from single-parent families are still there. It is created or the priority of men or jointly by women and men and sometimes woman a priority. Divorce weakens the economic resources of the family, and the state or not denies assistance or render it insufficient. Therefore, the economic independence of women from men is mainly manifested in relationships outside the family.
