Improved handling of adapted cars for people with disabilities is the role of ergonomics

This article shows the method used to override the reach for each disability. To map these zones, we explored how best to measure the length and mobility of the limbs of disabled drivers - either by measuring the actual limbs of disabled people or by modifying standard body statistic measurements. A 3D dummy with variable percentiles was developed to physically demonstrate and test the driver’s seat. This dummy will be used in the driving position simulator to check if the adaptation is suitable for a particular candidate.
