The Regional Planning Commission role in the productive forces development before and during the first Krasnoyarsk decade 1965-1980

The reasons for the rapid industrial development of the Krasnoyarsk Region in the post-war period were the presence of rich natural and raw materials, latitudinal and meridional transport communications, the possibilities of water supply for industrial enterprises and sewerage of industrial effluents. One of the conditions for the successful development of the productive forces of the region was the well-coordinated work of the regional planning commission, which, in fact, was an analytical center. It was responsible not only for the integrated development of enterprises of local, union and republican industry, but also for solving the social problems of the population. The purpose of the study is to identify the main areas of activity and the role of the regional planning commission in the development of the productive forces of the Krasnoyarsk Region. The authors were guided by the methodological concept of modernization, taking into account the frontier nature of the development of the region's natural resources and the peculiarities of its industrial development in the Soviet period. The work uses the principles of historicism, consistency and objectivity, as well as general scientific and special scientific methods. The source base was the materials of the State Archive of the Krasnoyarsk Region. The paper shows the main activities of the regional planning commission in the development of the productive forces of the Krasnoyarsk Region in the adaptation of projects for the formation of industrial regions and industrial centers, industrial enterprises located in them, master plans of cities developed by the country's design organizations, to the territorial features and socio-economic interests of the Krasnoyarsk Region .
