Role of peasant communities in public inspection organization and military induction (late XIX - early XX century)

The article shows the role of a peasant community controlling the newcomers to a certain village for permanent residence and receiving passports. It analyses the implementation of its state duties which was connected with military induction of peasants who were the members of the community.
