This article is devoted to the study of small business in Russia and its impact on the economy and society. The paper analyzes the structure, dynamics of development and features of the market and competition in the small business sector. Legal, tax and regulatory conditions for small businesses and their impact on the development of this sector are also considered. The factors influencing the growth and development of small business in Russia, including the availability of credit, the level of qualification of entrepreneurs and employees, scientific and technological progress and innovation, economic conditions, etc. are investigated. Recommendations are being developed to improve the effectiveness of state support for small businesses in Russia, including measures to reduce bureaucratic barriers, simplify taxation, ensure the availability of financing, etc. The social and economic impact of small business on society and the Russian economy is also assessed, including its contribution to reducing unemployment, increasing tax revenues, and improving living standards.
