Role of mathematical models in studying trends in the development of political events and processes

The purpose of this article is to assess the use of mathematical tools and methods in modern political science. It briefly discusses how the use of mathematics has evolved, as well as the relationship of evolution with the various methodological approaches that use mathematics, and with research subjects in each of the different sub-areas of political science. Also, based on the conducted literary analysis, two factors are shown that underlie the use of mathematics in political science. On the basis of these data, it became possible to conclude what is the role of mathematical models in the study of trends in the development of political phenomena and processes.
