Impact of migration on dynamics and composition of the population in the Far Eastern federal district

In the article the author examines the population dynamics in the Far East and its causes for the whole period of the region formation. A special attention is paid to the fact that the Soviet period was characterized by a higher rate of population growth, as compared to average Russian indicators, due to an active migration of the population to the East of the country. Some periods were characterized by oscillations in the role of migration or other natural reasons in the regional population dynamics. It is considered the impact of migration in the post Soviet period. The author focuses not only on the population migration in the region, but also on a migratory interaction of the Far East with all the Russian regions and with foreign countries. The author offers the ways of attracting the population to the Russian Far East.
