Role of Mammals in subsistence system of Bohai population of the Gorbatka walled town

In the paper results of investigation of mammalian bones assemble are scrutinized that is originated from medieval Gorbatka walled town of Bohai State (VIII-X) epoch. The site was administrative center of the North-Eastern periphery of the state on the territory of modern Maritime Region (Primorye). Within the bounds of the walled town five building horizons of the Bohai period were examined. The condition and preservation of mammal's bones was estimated what was dug at inhabited block of the site of Bohai period from the dwelling of the down horizon and the well through all low layers. Main part of assemble was mammalian bones that are result of few families' activity. Analysis of species represented evidences wild and domestic animals used by the population of the walled town. Comparing of results with data from other sites allowed getting of preliminary withdrawals about significance of different mammal species for Bohai people of the site and to scrutinize the role of animals in subsistence system of Bohai population at the Northeast part of the state. Some features of variations for using of some species at the different sites were noted. The reason probably is diverse geographic zones where these sites are located and their regional specialization.
