The role of national mentality in shaping of civic awareness

The article substantiates the relevance of the research of national mentality in the formation of civic consciousness on the example of the civic consciousness development of Ukrainians. The formation of civic consciousness is the main regulator of the legal and socio-cultural processes of national development in the modern society. Therewith, the value-cultural basis of this process, consolidated in the symbols of the national mentality, is a prerequisite for the formation of the civic consciousness.
