Role of scientific knowledge in realizing the potential of traditional folk culture

The article examines the potential of traditional folk culture as a factor of national security and one of the key resources of social development in the conditions of the ideological vector stated by the RF President at the meeting of the international discussion club “Valdai” in September 2013. It provides information reflecting the urgency of problems in the field of culture and, in particular, in ensuring the availability of cultural facilities for the wider population. It substantiates the necessity to use a scientific approach while making management decisions to achieve the maximum effect from their implementation.
