The article is devoted to one of the most pressing problems of the economic history of the Russian Far East – the study of the role of German entrepreneurs in the development of productive forces and market infrastructure in the region. The chronological framework of the study covers the period from the 60s of the XIX century to 1914. The article describes the activities of German companies that contributed to the improvement of technical equipment and modernization of local industry, agriculture and transport. The role of the Germans in establishing transport links in the region and in the formation of its port infrastructure is shown. It is noted that the cooperation of German companies with the world's largest shipping companies, insurance companies, and banks contributed to the development of the region's market infrastructure and its economic growth. Based on various sources, the authors characterize the activities of the largest German firms and companies in the Russian Far East.
