The role of public educational organizations in the fight against child homelessness and neglect in Krasnodar territory and Rostov region in 1943-1945

The paper presents the results of a study on child homelessness and neglect in Kuban and Don regions in 1943-1945. The causes of such a negative social phenomenon are analyzed. The research describes the activities carried out by the education authorities and local Soviet and party authorities to improve the situation. For example, they encouraged adolescents to work in agriculture or workshops. The teaching staff of secondary schools and industrial training schools was largely responsible for homeless and neglected children. The research focuses on complex social phenomena, education and involvement of young people in activities of social and public interest in the post-occupation period. Besides, it examines the development of communist ideology among school students.
