The article studies the role of the interrogation body in the preliminary investigation. The author considers the rights and responsibilities of an interrogating officer and a chief of interrogation body at various stages of the preliminary investigation. The interaction of a prosecutor, an interrogation body and an interrogating officer is described. The article deals with the urgent problem of how to improve the procedural support of crime control.
