Influence of especially protected natural territories in preserving biological diversity of amphibians and reptiles

Data about species structure and quantity of amphibians and reptiles in 6 reserves and 3 preserves, situated on the territory of the mid-Volga, are given. Information about rare and vanishing species of amphibians and reptiles, registered in the regional Red data books, is considered. Necessary measures, aimed at the preservation of fauna of lower terrestrial vertebrates in the mid-Volga, are presented.
