The Role of Primary Health Care in Organizing Preventive Measures for the Elderly

The article considers the importance of primary health care in the system of preventive measures for elderly and senile people. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of modern approaches to the organization of medical and social care, medical examination, prevention of chronic and oncological diseases, as well as cognitive disorders. The challenges and prospects for reforming the primary health care in the context of population aging are reflected. The data of Russian studies demonstrating the importance of interdisciplinary and interdepartmental interaction, the introduction of information technologies and improving the quality of life of elderly patients are analyzed. Based on the studied sources, a conclusion is made about the need for an integrated approach to the development of preventive medicine and strengthening the role of the primary health care as a key link in the health care system of the Kyrgyz Republic.
