The role of suburban zones in the social and economic cities’ development (through the example of Volgograd)

The article is concerned with the researching of the suburban zones’ role in modern Russian cities’ development. The purpose of this research is to investigate the suburban zones’ influence on social and economic cities’ development. In terms of Volgograd we have considered the essence of suburban zones, separated the components of economic and social effect of suburban service (social, cultural, psychological, economic effects); there was studied the quantitative connection between the level of suburban service’s development and social and economic indicators of the city with help of correlated and regression analysis. There is a great connection between stream results of suburban service subjects for one citizen, specific gravity of those people who work on suburban service objects in the sum of the whole working population of the city and indicators of social and economic development of a city. The connection between the number of suburban service objects to 1000 working people and indicators of social and economic development varies from noticeable to too strong. We have had a shot to give the practice recommendations how to develop the Volgograd suburban zone, have discovered places to build necessary suburban service objects have calculated its conceivable economic effect.
