The article considers the problems of falsification of political history as an instrument of modern information war on the eve of the significant historical anniversary for Russia - the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. The author believes that it is especially important today to use the tools of public diplomacy to expose falsifications of political history and key events of the Second World War from the rostrum of world political forums and media channels. As an example, the author considers the reaction of the world community to the statements of Vladimir Putin at the Fifth International Forum in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust in Israel in January 2020, where the focus was on the role of the Soviet Union and the Red Army in the victory over Nazism.
