The role of the repertoire in children's choir and its selection criteria

Бесплатный доступ

The formation of children's aesthetic taste is one of the most pressing problems of the modern world. Children’s choral singing, which was developed in the 20th century, contributed to the formation of children’s choral groups. In the second half of the 20th century, when the children’s choir reached its heyday, almost every composer who writes “adult” music does not ignore its “children’s” area. Today, children’s choirs exist, sing, perform solo concert programs, and even participate in international choral competitions as a separate category. And at present, children’s choirmasters have great opportunities to choose a repertoire. At the same time, the selection of works for children’s choirs remains an acute practical problem and does not lose its relevance: both because life puts forward new requirements, and because our knowledge is constantly enriched by the discovery of new patterns of children’s development, the emergence of new technologies and opportunities for their training.
