The role of Russia in the BRICS group

The article deals with the economic and political status of Russia in the BRICS. Russia initiated the establishment of BRICS group as an association of the strongest developing economies of the world. Its role is not limited by the development of economic relations in the group. The author believes, that BRICS is seen by Russia as a chance to create a political center able to compete with the unipolar world order led by the United States.
