The role of sculpture in the memorial park

The article analyzes the influence of monuments as inseparable elements of memorial parks using examples of sculptural compositions. Monuments are considered not only as artistic objects, but also as intermediaries of historical memory, possessors of emotional and psychological impact, as well as integral objects of the cultural landscape. Using the examples of some memorial complexes, the tasks of sculpture are explored – aesthetic, educational, symbolic, interactive and communicative. The role of sculptural forms in the formation of patriotic consciousness, memory storage and involvement of visitors is noted.
