In the article, sociology is revealed as the only social science that is not only called upon, but also has real opportunities to reveal the state, trends in the movement of modern society, and to predict the immediate and distant prospects of its development. It is substantiated as by means of sociological researches deviations in development of social relations are revealed, in a timely manner negative phenomena are predicted, social technologies, control systems of social organizations are developed.
