The article examines the features of socio-psychological adaptation of firstyear students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports (FCIS) to the university educational environment. The analysis shows that the success of adaptation is determined by the complex interaction of socio-psychological factors and individual typological features of the nervous system. The study is based on the results of testing the adaptation potential, properties of the nervous system and academic performance of first-year FCIS students. The data obtained make it possible to identify the relationship between the individual typological features of the nervous system, socio-psychological characteristics and the success of adaptation to the educational environment, as well as to offer recommendations for optimizing the psychological and pedagogical support of first-year students. The results of the study can be used to develop personalized adaptation programs aimed at improving academic performance and preventing maladjustment in students of sports specialties.
