Role of tourism in the economy of the Republic of Korea

The article examined the role of tourism in the economy as a whole and in the economy of South Korea. The study examined indicators such as the number of tourists arriving in the country, tourist spending, government spending on tourism, the contribution of tourism to employment and the country's GDP. The following conclusions are: tourism really plays an important role in the economy of the Republic of Korea, which is confirmed by the state’s targeted policy to develop tourism and increase government spending on this industry, which in the future will contribute to increasing the investment attractiveness of the country, stimulating the influx of tourists and increasing employment. The main research methods include theoretical and practical methods and techniques, namely: analysis, synthesis and comparison.
