The role of the «green» economy in the sustainable development of the region

The article discusses the importance of the “green” economy in the sustainable development of the region. From the position of the authors, the “green” economy is considered as an integral part of the natural environment, with the goal of saving resources and ensuring the well-being of society in the long term without a threat to the environment and future generations. The characteristic features of sustainable development of the region in a “green” economy are highlighted: environmental sustainability, efficient use of resources, innovation and technological progress, and others.
