The role of rail transport in the development of tourism in Russia: challenges and prospects

This article focuses on the analysis of the essence and significance of rail transportation in the context of tourism development in Russia. The study highlights not only the essential interaction of these two spheres, but also emphasizes their importance for both domestic and international tourism. The article substantiates that rail transportation plays a significant role in the formation and development of the country's tourism infrastructure and economy. The author draws attention to the historical aspect of the relationship between these two industries, revealing their evolution and importance for attracting both local and foreign tourists. Judgments are made about the advantages of rail transport over other modes of transport in the context of tourist trips. It is noted that, despite the existing challenges, such as infrastructure constraints and competition, rail transportation has significant prospects for development, especially with the use of innovative technologies, diverse routes and improved services. The study also highlights the role of government support, cooperation between industry and regulatory authorities, as well as the importance of international experience in the successful development of railway tourist trips.
