Literary art creativity of scientist-biologist V. S. Pazhetnov is considered in this article. In the analysis of creativity of the writer were established folklore and romantic sources of fairy tales «Valya's grandfather». In conclusions it is specified that traditions of romanticism remain now in regional literature.
