This scientific work is devoted to a comprehensive study of romanticism as a literary movement in Russian literature of the XIX century. The work examines the origins and philosophical foundations of romanticism, its key motives and themes, as well as the contribution of the greatest Russian romantic writers to the formation and development of this movement. The works of V.A. Zhukovsky, M.Yu. Lermontov, A.S. Pushkin and other authors are analyzed. Attention is also paid to the socio-historical context of the era, which contributed to the emergence of the romantic worldview. The work is structured in three chapters, each of which reveals a certain aspect of the problem.
