Russian civilization in the works of T.G. Masaryk

The article examines the scientific heritage of the Czech politician, sociologist and philosopher, the first president of Czechoslovakia T.G. Masaryk, dedicated to the history, culture, traditions of Russia, studies the origins of his interest in the culture and history of the Russian Empire. The author concludes that despite the critical attitude towards our country, T.G. Masaryk believed that Russia occupies a key position on many issues of international relations and serves as a clear example of inconsistency in the process of modernization of public and state institutions for Europe.
