Russian Youth as a Risk Group for Involvement in Extremist and Terrorist Structures: Ways to Reduce Victimhood

The publication is devoted to the problem of youth involvement in terrorist and extremist organizations, which is actualized by the fact that effective methods of countering this phenomenon have not been sufficiently developed in scientific research, the background and nature of this activity, its substantive specificity and methods of countering it have not been fully studied. Based on the results of the research work, it was concluded that the first stage of the formation of a unified and universal system of combating such criminal processes should be the elimination of gaps and lacunae in national legislation, and the subsequent ones - the development of comprehensive criminological programs in the field of youth policy and the neutralization of the main reasons why young people agree to cooperate and join the ranks of extremist and terrorist associations. The implementation of these measures will lead to a decrease in the victimization of Russian youth, who are constantly at risk of being involved in the activities of such structures, and will also contribute to the formation of a general system of victimological prevention in the Russian Federation.
