Russian corporate lending market: the impact of digitalization and increased external challenges

The article discusses the main trends in the development of the corporate lending market in 2020. In addition, the article contains an analysis of the dynamics of changes in the key indicators of the banking sector related to the corporate lending industry on the basis of open statistical data published by the Central Bank of Russia. The main aspects of the digitalization of the economy affecting the corporate lending segment are considered, as well as the relationship between the digitalization of the economy due to increased external challenges is investigated, and the impact of the growth of digitalization on the dynamics of the corporate lending sector in modern conditions is estimated. The author draws a conclusion about the nature and extent of the impact of the COVID-19 crisis and the accompanying restrictive quarantine measures on the corporate lending market in 2020, and also draws a relationship between the dynamics of the corporate lending sector and general economic trends that manifest themselves both at the micro and macro levels of the economy.
