Russian-african economic relations at the present stage: opportunities for development

The article studies Russian-African relations at the present stage. The author substantiates the necessity and identifies opportunities for the development of Russian-African economic relations, in particular, with the countries of West Africa, as well as identifies the barriers to this development. The author emphasizes the fact that African countries have the richest natural resources, which is interesting for Russia. The author of the article shows that in the current realities of Russia-Africa economic relations are not well developed, given the fact that in absolute terms the indicators are increasing. The countries of West Africa deserve special attention, as in this region there is a weakening of relations. It is concluded that it is necessary to adopt a comprehensive document - the Strategy of Russia in African countries, the adoption of which would emphasize the importance of Russian-African relations, where to detail economic cooperation, to fix measures aimed at increasing trade turnover, to identify categories of goods, in particular, West African countries, needed by Russia, to emphasize the importance of training African specialists in Russia, taking into account domestic standards, which will contribute to strengthening ties between Russia and Africa.
